33 Weeks and 6 Days

I am 33 weeks and 6 days!! I can't believe how fast the time is flying by. School has been extremely busy and it has kept me going for sure. I am getting bigger by the day though. The top picture in this post is me at 27 weeks and the bottom two are me at 32 weeks. My feet and ankles have started swelling in the past couple of weeks and I basically can't wear any of my shoes except for my lime green crocs. ;) Jeremy and I went and bought a new pair of clogs though so those should work as well...I love my clogs but there are some things that just don't go with lime green. ;) I have had a little bit of heartburn as well but nothing unbearable. We still have not set up the baby room...but we are planning on doing that soon. My doctor's appointments have all been going well and the baby is in the head down position which is great. I am now going every 3 weeks and my next appointment is Monday, October 8th with Dr. Morales. I can feel the baby moving all the time which is extremely comforting especially since we have been learning about all of the complications with pregnancy and placental diseases in school. It just makes me realize what a miracle pregnancy really is.

I have had both of my showers since the last time I posted on here and they were so much fun! I have the greatest, most generous friends and family and they really blessed us with so many gifts and with their time. It has been amazing to see the support of my friends and the faculty at school. Everyone has been really understanding and compassionate. I am getting more and more excited about the baby coming everyday. Two nights ago I had a dream that I had a boy but otherwise, all of my dreams have been about a girl. So, who knows!! ;) Many people at school have a suspicion that the baby is a girl but I really am not sure. We will be happy with either of course. ;)

26 Weeks and 5 Days

I started school this past Monday, August 13th. So far everything is going really well. I am starting to feel tired today but I think that has more to do with getting up at 6:15 every morning than anything else. I can't believe how fast the time is going. It was fun getting to see all of my classmates again and getting to talk about the baby with them. We have to pick what regional campus we want to go to for my third and fourth year of medical school on August 31st. It is a tough decision.

The baby is doing great, I can feel him/her kick all the time. It is so fun to feel the baby kick during lecture. ;) I have my next doctor's appointment on Tuesday August 21st. It is with Dr. Hall and his ultrasound machine prints out pictures so I should have a new picture of the baby then! Our birthing classes are going great. We just had a class on second stage labor or the actual pushing out of the baby. Jeremy and I are starting to get really excited about having the baby. Overall, I am feeling great and I am loving every minute of being pregnant!

24 Weeks and 6 Days

We went and saw Dr. Morales on the 25th of July. The baby looked great and is right on track with his/her growth. The baby weighed 1 and 1/4 lbs. We were able to see the baby's eyes and watch him/her move all around. We did not get a picture of the baby because the ultrasound machine that we were using did not have a printer. So, we scheduled an appointment using that machine in late August. Then, you will get to see the baby!!

The baby's kicking has definitely picked up in frequency and intensity lately. It is so much fun to sit and watch my belly move all around. Jeremy is amazed at how much the baby moves. I have been having some back pain but otherwise I feel great. Oh, and I do have a little bit of a cold but it's almost gone. I finished my practicum on the 25th of July which was great. I really enjoyed myself but I was definitely tired at the end of the day. I am getting really excited about my showers that are coming up soon. I can't wait to see all the adorable baby stuff! I have been having so many dreams lately of taking care of the baby and in every dream the baby has been a girl. ;) I start back to school on the 13th so I have a little more than a week of vacation left. I am actually starting to get excited about going back though so it's not all bad. ;) Jeremy is still looking into jobs and he has a few opportunities. We have been looking a little more closely at baby names and we are starting to narrow them down.

22 Weeks

Today I am officially entering into my 6th month! I cannot believe how fast it is going by. We attended our first Bradley birthing class last Tuesday night. It was such a great class and it was really encouraging. There is only one other couple taking the course with us and they seem great. We chose to take the Bradley class instead of the course offered through the hospital because of its emphasis on natural childbirth and on educating the father in a way that will allow them to coach the wife through childbirth. Jeremy is really excited about the class and it has already been a great way for him to become more involved with the pregnancy. Our first class taught us about exercises that we can do during pregnancy to better prepare our bodies for labor. They have been alot of fun and have helped alot with back pain. Our next class is dealing with nutrition. We had a couple come visit our class last week and they had a 2 week old little girl named Hope. They were such an encouraging couple and come to find out, they were patients of Dr. Morales. Not only that, but they were the couple that Dr. Morales told us about who chose not to find out the sex of their baby so it was really awesome to get to meet them and hear their story. They said the thrill of finding out the sex of the baby in the birthing room was unlike anything they have ever experienced.

I began the last two weeks of my practicum this past Thursday. So, I still have 8 days remaining. Everything has gone well so far although I have definitely been tired by the end of the 10 hour days. My favorite part is seeing the newborn babies! I am sure that has something to do with me being pregnant but whatever the reason, I love them. ;)

This past Monday we were able to get our carpet cleaned as a gift for renewing our lease at our apartment. Slowly but surely we are getting the place ready for the new baby! We are just so blessed that the pregnancy is going well and that Baby Wolter is doing great! Thank you for your prayers and support.

21 Weeks - The Halfway Point

I am now 21 weeks! Today actually marks the halfway point of the actual pregnancy. My pregnancy journal says that the baby sucks its thumb every once in awhile now but we have yet to see that on ultrasound...even though we get one every time we go. As I am typing, I can feel the baby moving around. The best times are when the baby decides to rearrange itself (which usually happens right after I decide to lay down) and I can feel the different parts of the baby's body moving under my hand. It is incredible. My waist has grown almost an inch in the past week bringing it to 34 inches.

We just got back from visiting Jeremy's mom and husband in St. Augustine from Wednesday, July 4th, until Friday night. It was alot of fun and we were able to see the fireworks right over the bay. They were amazing. We were also able to visit our friends Carin and Mike and their family and Jeremy's aunt and cousin. On our way back from St. Augustine, we stopped at the Motherhood outlet store and I bought a new sundress. We also stopped at Babies R Us, since we don't have one here, and made sure we liked all the stuff we picked out online. We received a free gift box with lots of great baby stuff in there. My friend Cassie sent me a lullaby CD for the baby which is so precious. I am continuing to clean out my closets to make room for the little one. ;) We still haven't decided on a boy or girl name yet but we plan to go to Borders and look through their books soon.
